Dear Families and Community Members,
Thank you for the incredible support you give to the students and staff at Belfair Elementary School!
I want to encourage you to continue working with your child(ren) at home with their school work and by providing time for them to read for 20 to 30 minutes uninterrupted each day.
My goal, as principal, is to create a culture of learning, growth, and excellence at Belfair Elementary School. My desire is that we strive for excellence in everything we do with and for our students – and that we foster in them a love of learning. Belfair Elementary is a place of learning not only for students, but for teachers, too. As an instructional leader, my job is to support teachers in their learning and growth as professionals. Our collective mindset is that “no matter how much we know and how good we are, there’s always room for new learning and new growth!”
An area for learning among our teachers and support staff this year include new English Language Arts programs. We have adopted Fountas and Pinnell Literacy for kindergarten through 2nd grade, and Pearson ReadyGEN for 3rd through 5th grade. These literacy programs are designed to meet the needs of today's elementary learners by providing comprehensive, rigorous, standards-based instruction using high quality engaging texts.
There are lots of volunteer opportunities at the school and lots of ways you can help us help students succeed. Please don’t hesitate to talk to your child’s teacher about volunteering, inquire at the school office, or contact me to find out more.
Please text @belking to the phone number 81010 to join my Belfair Parents and Guardians group in Remind (our school communications app). Also, please Like or Follow me on Facebook where you will find me at Dan King, Belfair Elementary Principal.
