Dean Bonnell is the Athletic Director for North Mason High School. He holds a Master's Degree in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in History.  He is currently pursuing his Principal Licensure at the University of Cincinnati. As a teacher, he has seven years of teaching experience at the middle and high school levels in the Kent and Tahoma School Districts teaching a wide array of classes: from Civics & Foreign Policy in the Humanities to Yearbook, Leadership, Physical Education, Health, Auto Shop, and Special Education Mathematics.

 

Dean Bonnell has an extensive background in American Football, is a Tackle Analyst for Atavus, and consults Football teams across Europe.  As a player, Bonnell captained Kentwood High School to the 4A State Finals in 1999, signed with Washington State University and helped the Cougars win a Pacific 10 Conference Championship in 2002. In 2004, he began a professional career as a player-coach in Europe, winning multiple National Championships in Switzerland, Austria, and the Czech Republic. As a coach, he assisted the Austrian Youth (U18) National Team to a European Championship and helped guide the Czech National Team to the Group B Finals in the European Championships.  He also has high school coaching experience at Puyallup, Kentwood, and Tahoma High Schools.  Coach B is Nationally Certified and Accredited by NFHS, USA Football, Heads Up, and Atavus Tackling.

 

Married 17 years with two children in the North Mason School District, "Romo" is excited to call Hood Canal home. His hobbies include learning new languages (German, French, Czech, Italian, Spanish, & Q'anjob'al), chess, sailing, & skiing.
