Computer Technology replace keyboarding and computer skills. Technological advances have promoted new ways of thinking, working, communicating, and learning. This class will include: Keyboarding review, voice recognition*, word processing, multimedia, desk-top publishing and internet basics. It is highly recommended that a student take this exploratory (introductory) course. *In addition to typing on a keyboard, voice can be used to input test at over 100 WAM.

This course will help you become familiar with Microsoft Office 2000/XP (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). It will not only help you learn about the features of the software, but will help you apply and master its features in a realistic business context. Basic Internet and digital camera skills are included. You will have the opportunity to work toward becoming certified as a Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS). GRAPHIC AND WEB DESIGN

If you are interested in using a digital camera, designing a personal web page, and letting your creativity soar, then the new Graphic and Web Design class is for you! This course incorporates the principles of visual design with computer animation, digital photographym and personal/professional web page development. Our goal is to offer an advanced-level class that brings many computer skills and personal creativity together. Let's take technology to the next level!
PHOTOGRAPHY I & II
PREREQUISITE: For Photography II: Photography I

$50 Fee Required - Students must provide a 35 mm camera or a 3+ megapixel digital camera. There are no exceptions as the school cannot supply cameras.
This is an introduction to photography that emphasizes basic camera techniques. Also, as part of the course, basic black and white film processing and printing techniques are taught. Photographic history and photographic equipment evolution are included. Students are required to build from scratch a Pin-Hole camera and to make it work. Included in the course are the elements of composition and aspects of camera operations. The connection between seeing, doing, and producing are a central core of the class. For the student using a digital camera the course will include instructions on Photoshop 7 and its elements. Students may be required to work with little supervision in other areas of the school. There may also be some additional cost for paper and ink.
VIDEO PRODUCTION I & II

Students participating in this class will learn videotaping techniques, scripting, shot organization, audio dubbing, and editing. Students will also be required to participate in the production of the “Eye of the Dog” broadcast. This is a group work oriented class that requires students to manage time, be motivated, creative, and capable of staying on task with the goal of product excellence.
A technology continuum has been designed to allow students an independent learning path to certifications at various levels of skills and knowledge in the Information Technology industry.

This class will prepare you for certification from CompTIA (Computer Technology Industry Association) in basic computer service and repair technology skills, and services as an excellent foundation for the Networking and Network Administration courses. Interest and curiosity about what makes computers work is a prerequisite!

Once a student has mastered the objectives in A+ 2003, Networking focuses on knowledge of networking technology and networking practices. Networking will build on your technology experience and background as well as adding another certification to your portfolio (Independent study on other certifications may be possible-see instructor.)

Following completion of the Networking course work, students will enter the area of Network Administration. Students need to register for two terms, similar to AP classes. This material is "cutting edge" preparation for industry standards for employment in the Information Technology field.
