Pace

North Mason School District's Alternative High School provides a quality educational program for non-traditional learners. Students demonstrate mastery of basic skills required to learn and prosper in an ever changing world. Students in the PACE Academy Program utilize NovaNet as their primary instructional program. NovaNet is a computer based learning system which offers a large on-line library of interactive instructional courseware. It provides students and instructors with access to 10,000 hours of self-paced instruction in more than 150 Subject areas. NovaNet was developed by the University of Illinois' Computer-based Education Research Laboratory and represents over 35 years of research and development. Instructors work closely with students on-line and supplement all instruction with a variety of off-line assignments. Students progress through coursework only when they have achieved mastery. Credit is granted when students complete and master all on-line and off-line work. A PACE Academy diploma will be issued when students complete 20 credits and meet all state and school district graduation requirements.

The PACE Academy is located in portable classrooms behind the North Mason School District Office. Please contact Amalea Hendrickson at 360-277-2329 for more information.
