Dear Parents,
Good nutrition contributes positively to a student’s learning ability, behavior and general well being. The National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs are available in all North Mason Schools. Each day we offer a nutritionally balanced breakfast and lunch with foods from the food guide pyramid. Menus are available at each elementary school and at Hawkins Middle School.
High School and Middle School Breakfast and Lunch Programs:
We offer a variety of choices for breakfast to students at the secondary level. Milk and juice are always offered each day. Some of the choices of entrée include: sausage, cheese and egg on an english muffin ie: Breakfast Sandwich , pancake and sausage on a stick, french toast sticks, fruit filled churros, turnovers, breakfast pizza pockets, breakfast burritos, power alley bars, yogurt or pop tarts. Breakfast price is $1.00, there is no copay for reduced priced meals.
Lunch prices are as follows:
Elementary $1.75
Secondary $2.25
Reduced $ .40 – There is no copay for K-3 for 2007-08
All students are encouraged to pre-pay for several meals at a time; this saves time in the lunch line and gets the students to their lunches quicker. Parents can check their students accounts by signing up for access through the school districts’ website.
An application for free and reduced meals has either been mailed or is being sent home with your student. If you feel you qualify, please complete the application, sign and return it to your students cafeteria cashier, only one form is needed per family.
If you have any questions please call me at 277-2121.
