Career courses provide specific employment skills. They are important whether you plan to go to work immediately after high school or pursue further education after graduation. Career courses are a valuable addition to, not a substitute for, academic education.
When you take these classes you will see how academic subjects relate to the "real world" and are used in everyday situations. These classes will challenge you to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems. You will add a "hands-on" dimension to your education.
The skills learned in these courses help students get better jobs in any field. These skills include self-confidence, self-awareness, good work habits, practical problem solving, decision making, reliability and teamwork.
