Support for Students and Parents

ADVISORY meets about twice a month to help guide students as they develop their High School and Beyond Plan and Culminating Projects. Advisors stay with the same group of students for four years.

  • EMAIL any staff member by using the following formula: first initial + last name @nmsd.wednet.edu. You may also access email addresses at the high school website listed below.
  • Use the high school  WEBSITE at http://www.nmsd.wednet.edu/x2353.xml to find email addresses, links to educational resources, course expectations and project requirements, and more.
  • Our new district wide EVENT CALENDAR can be linked through the above high school website. Check it out to find out about parent forums, athletic schedules, concerts, and other school activities. You can even sign up to get an email should an event get cancelled or rescheduled.
  • Have the Daily Bulletin emailed directly to your inbox, sign up by clicking this link http://www.nmsd.wednet.edu/news-signup.xml
  • For the following two web-based programs, parents need to show picture ID to one of the high school secretaries. (This is to protect your student’s private information.) Parents will then receive passwords by mail.
    • All students have a password protected EFOLIO. This is a web-based system to plan, create, and store assignments, projects, High School and Beyond Plan, and other documents that will help students meet graduation requirements. Ask your student to show you his/her online efolio.
    •  Use FAMILY ACCESS to check on attendance, grades, excuse absences, and check lunch accounts.  If you do not currently have a password you can contact Jennifer Tuia (from our tech department) at 277-2376.  A few questions will be asked to verify your identity, you will then be issued a user name and password at the address we have on file.
  • CREDIT RECOVERY is currently being offered during summer for students who have failed a high school class that needs to be made up. The current cost of the program is $120.00. Interested students should see their counselor.
  • A WASL SUMMER SCHOOL program is being developed for this summer. Students who have not met standard on any section of the WASL can take a review course during the summer to improve their skills. Details will be available at a later date.
  • WASL RETAKE OPPORTUNITIES: Students who have not met standard on any part of the 10th grade WASL will be able to take the WASL up to five times.  Details will be announced as soon as we receive information from the State.
  • PARENT CONFERENCES are scheduled each fall and spring. Fall conferences are teacher-led in an arena setting. Spring conferences are student-led in a smaller setting with parent, student, and advisor.
  • PARENT FORUMS are offered throughout the year on such topics as graduation requirements, financial aid, Running Start, etc. Please see our calendars on the district calendar mentioned above.

For those parents without Internet access, we are still happy to assist you in person or by phone.  Please feel free to call for any information. Linda Joslin can be reached at 360-277-2188.  Todd Davis can be reached at 360- 277-2185.
