“The 7th grade orientation on Wednesday, August 29th put on by the W.E.B. (Where Everybody Belongs) team was quite successful. This year's group of 8th grade leaders did a wonderful job making sure the incoming 7th graders were comfortable, having fun, and getting the information they requested and we anticipated. The afternoon started off with an energizing assembly from which students were broken off into their year long groups. As the day progressed the students were engaged with their groups in activities meant for bonding and support for coming into a new school. A tour of the grounds and a closing assembly rounded out the afternoon. In observing the students from beginning to end, most students started off a little timid and unsure and appeared to leave with a comfort and confidence that their first day of school wont be all that daunting, at least with other students they now have some kind of connection with.”
