North Mason School District has four Community Advisory Committees which focus on the areas of Budget & Finance, Athletics, Educational Program and Facilities.
North Mason School District is seeking membership on the District's Citizen Advisory Committees. Organized in 2004, the committees have played a key role in assisting the School District better meet the needs of our students. Committees include Educational Programs, Athletics, Budget and Finance, and Facilities. Quarterly the co-chairs from each advisory committee and community representatives meet with the School Board to discuss issues of concern.
Community members who are interested in participating or continuing membership can download the application , fill it out, return it by e-mail to tbeattie@nmsd.wednet.edu or mail it to the district office at 71 E. Campus Dr., Belfair, WA 98528. You may also contact the District Administration office at 360-277-2300.
Each committee is co-chaired by a district staff member and a local resident, who serve as representatives at the Council of Key Communicators. School board members have also appointed two additional community members who reside within the boundaries of their respective districts to serve as members at-large on the Council of Key Communicators.
The Council of Key Communicators meets quarterly at the district office and provides reports to the North Mason School Board. The Council shares information from the five Community Advisory Committees to help in the decision-making processes of the district.
At-large members of the Council of Key Communicators are Joe Marks, Shari Alexander, Paula Grande, Mary Swoboda, Kevin Woodland, Pete Gunn, Brian Davis, Ken Wilson, Jeff Allen, Peter Merrill, Jr. and Merrie Woodland, student representative. Davis represents the faith community, while Wilson, as past president of the North Mason Chamber of Commerce, represents the business community.
