Curriculum & District Power Standards

Curriculum & District Power Standards

North Mason School District is dedicated to the task of providing all students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful as they further their education and enter the world of work.  To that end, we have identified standards that are crucial to further success.  These are called “Power Standards”. They are not the only standards that are taught, but they are the ones identified as being critical for success on high stakes assessment, future course work, and life-long learning.

You can view NMSD Power Standards for Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies by clicking on a grade level from the table. North Mason School District utilizes these standards when developing our instructional program and selecting instructional materials. These standards are taken from Washington State Standards and Common Core State Standards.  If you would like to see the full listing of these standards, you can visit the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) web site at http://www.k12.wa.us/CurriculumInstruct/default.aspx.

If you wish to see which textbooks and other instructional materials we use to meet these standards, select "Instructional Materials" from the "Instruction" tab.
